About Us
Kangaroo Crossing was named after, yes, a kangaroo crossing sign. Long ago for some reason, I fell in love with pictures of kangaroo crossing signs. I know it's not uncommon for people to have a "thing" for road signs... but mine was just these. Pictures of the signs were warm and took me on an imaginative journey down the long road they stood along. Years later, the sign's name has a slightly different meaning as I reach a transitional time as a mother with four daughters: being at a crossroads as a mother, wanting to set an example for my daughters of how they can not only go after, but go about chasing their dreams, ideas, and values. In a very real way, being a mother kangaroo bringing along her joeys. To us the name is fun, warm, adventourous, creative, hoppity, fierce, motherly, and us. This has been a long time coming and we are so ready to get the ball rolling (or should I say the kangaroo crossing:)).
